From Dr. Gruman
Dear Northwest Families,
We hope you enjoy the upcoming long weekend with your students. We are excited to engage in professional learning with our staff on Monday, April 10.
Below are some quick highlights for the upcoming week:
- Sophomores will complete their Kansas Math Assessment between April 11 and 14 in their scheduled math classes. Students have been working on the standards throughout the school year and are ready to share their learning. We encourage a good night of sleep and breakfast as with a typical school day.
- Juniors will complete their Kansas Science Assessment on April 11 or 12 in their regularly scheduled science class.
- Prom Assembly is on Thursday, April 13. We are excited to show our Cougar Pride and highlight our court candidates.
- Prom and After-Prom are on Saturday, April 15. We are so excited for these events. We are grateful to have such wonderful PTSA support for the After-Prom event and so many parents involved as volunteers, committee members and chairs, and those making donations. These are wonderful memories for our juniors and seniors!
Have a wonderful week!
All the best,
Dr. Lisa Gruman

After Prom is coming up on April 15 and we need YOU to help make Beach Bash '23 a huge success for our students! Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday and during the event on Saturday. Pick something that sounds fun - we need help with check-in, ticket sales, casino and carnival games, prizes, and more! Please take a couple minutes to visit our After Prom website where you will find links to volunteer, donate snacks, and make a monetary contribution. Our sign up is only about half full with under 2 weeks to go, so grab a friend or two and spend the evening helping to make After Prom the fun, safe, affordable, and SMART choice for our SMNW upperclassmen on April 15!
