Be in the Valley Homecoming Parade with Clive Learning Academy!
The Valley Homecoming Committee has invited all the elementary schools to be in the Homecoming parade on Sept. 30! The staff and PTO are working together to recruit families to represent our school. We will be walking as a CLA group in the parade route. The parade starts at 5:45 p.m.; line up is at 4:45 p.m. At the end of the parade route (Valley Stadium), there will be carnival activities for all ages.
Join us and celebrate your school spirit! Kids can ride scooters, rollerblade, or ride in wagons if you worry it is too far to walk. To sign up your family to be a part of this fun event, visit https://forms.gle/8yezYF7gEWqK9Uid8. More details can be found at that same link or by emailing clivepto@gmail.com.
Register Now for Challenge of the Books
Calling all fourth, fifth and sixth graders who love reading! Want to take part in a friendly trivia competition against other elementary schools in our district? Join Challenge of the Books!
Being part of Challenge of the Books means your student would choose to read books from the "Challenge Book List" on their own. Your student would meet with other CLA readers to discuss the books at school, during the lunch hour — approximately one time per month from October through April. At the end of the season, our team will take part in the final competition at the district level. COTB is essentially a book club that tests your knowledge at the end! This activity is led by parent volunteers.

Help with the Yearbook!
We are looking for a volunteer (or volunteers) to put together our Clive Learning Academy yearbook! Volunteer(s) will work with the teacher yearbook sponsor to make decisions about vendors, yearbook size and design, promoting and selling the yearbook, as well as assisting with gathering student photos and pictures from events.
Our current yearbook parent has really enjoyed being a part of the creative process, and is available to help someone new learn the ropes AND our vendors have software and design services that make the process easy. The yearbook goes to print around March and is distributed to classrooms in May.
Please reach out to the Clive PTO at clivepto@gmail.com if you're interested or would like to learn more!
