For those students who would like to get their picture retaken and bought a package, they MUST bring their package down to the cameras for an even exchange, as pictures will not be reprinted unless those are returned. Our photographer will need to know what to enter in for them for those pictures to be replaced. Please let your families know this prior to retake day.

HMS Halloween Parade
Please be aware the school dress code will still apply. This includes:
- Shirts may not expose the midriff, chest, back or sides.
- Sleeves must be a minimum of a hand's width at the shoulder.
- Shorts, Skirts, and Skorts must be at minimum to the fingertips when arms are naturally at the side.
- Costumes should not include fake blood or other paints that could stain carpet/furniture.
- Do not bring weapons such as toy guns, swords, knives etc with the costume.
- Students will be asked to remove masks that cover the face when in the classroom. They may be worn during the parade.
New Social Media Trend
In the past few weeks, we have noticed an uptick in the number of cell phones in the classrooms and hallways. School policy states that cell phones should be kept in the students locker and turned off. The new trend is an App called Be Real. The idea is to take a selfie using the forward and backward facing camera within two minutes of receiving a notification, no matter where your are. This is very dangerous as it tells all followers exactly where you are and when. Please remind your students of our school policy regarding cell phones and to use Social Media safely.
Thank you,
Hopkins Public Schools Celebrates National School Lunch Week
“Peace, Love & School Lunch” October 10-14
To recognize the National School Lunch Program, serving nearly 30 million children each day, Hopkins Public Schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 10-14, 2022. The fun and creative campaign theme, “Peace, Love & School Lunch,” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom.
Research shows children are getting their healthiest meals at school. School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium. National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.
The federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) has been fueling students for success for 75 years. Students can enjoy the convenience of a healthy school lunch for just $2.40 elementary, $2.75 middle and $2.75 high school. Some students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals; fill out a meal application at hopkins.familyportal.cloud today!
The “Peace, Love & School Lunch” campaign is made possible by the nonprofit School Nutrition Association and Kellogg’s. Parents and students can follow the fun on social media using the hashtags #NSLW22, #PeaceLoveSchoolLunch and #SchoolLunch.
For more information on National School Lunch Week, visit https://schoolnutrition.org/nslw/.
Cell phones are to be turned off and kept in their lockers during the school day. Cell phones that are used during the school day will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent.
If a student needs to contact a parent/guardian, they can go to the office to either use their cell phone or call from the office phone. If a parent needs to reach a student, they can leave a message for their student with the office.
