READ-A-THON

Read-A-Thon has begun! Students have received their yellow folders with the following information: Read-A-Thon calendar, sponsor log, student minute log, and an envelope for pledges. Donations can also be made online using this link. Finally, be sure to refer to the calendar for special days where students are encouraged to DRESS UP.

SCIENCE CARTOON

COMING TO AMERICA LETTER

This assignment requires research as well as a bit of creativity. Students will research life as an immigrant in early America. After that, students will take on the role of the immigrant, and will write a letter to their families back in their homeland. Students should refer to the rubric when completing this task. The assignment will be due on Wednesday, 11/15.

ELLIS ISLAND SIMULATION

Students are learning about the reasons people immigrated to the United States at the turn of the century. On Thursday, 11/9 students will take part in an Ellis Island Simulation from 11:15-12:45. In order to do this, we need parent involvement. If you are able to assist, please sign up using the link below. We truly appreciate your help, and ask that you arrive at 10:30 so that Mrs. Schirmer and I can train you.
