Hello Kipling Families,

Thank you to the 1st grade and 2nd grade families for all your support this week as our students had their wonderful Music Performance and the very innovative Invention Convention! It is very rewarding to see our students shine in unique ways that are not always on display in the classroom each day. Our kids worked so hard to make these events a success. Thank you as well to the 1st and 2nd grade teams and to Ms. Brynda for all your guidance and for creating a little magic for our students. Next week is a big week for our community as we will have our PTO Bingo Night on Friday, 4/21. Thank you to the PTO for all your hard work planning this great event for our community. Doors will open at 5:45pm and Bingo will begin at 6pm. I will make sure I have plenty of tea with honey so my Bingo voice is on point!

Parents, please spend some time with your child this weekend reviewing what proper expectations are for riding the bus. Students should remain seated at all times. They should not be yelling or using inappropriate language. We want the bus rides to be safe and positive experiences for every child. Being Mindful, Safe, and Respectful is something we talk about every day here at Kipling and we need to ensure this same mindset on the bus. Please help us reiterate and reinforce these expectations. Thank you!

The Philanthropy Student Leadership Team is hosting an Orphans of the Storm drive, a local shelter known for saving cats and dogs from across the U.S. from euthanasia, the week of April 24th. DPS109 Parent/Guardian Webinar Series

District 109 is excited to announce that, in partnership with PPS109 and Dr. Doug Bolton, we will be hosting a series of virtual parent/guardian/community workshops this Spring. Topics for the next events will include:

• Addressing The Greatest Worries of Parents & Guardians (4/27)

• Understanding Children’s Hardest Moments (5/4)

• The Basics of Childhood Resilience (5/11)

• Collaborative Problem Solving (5/18)
