Wildcat Weekly
December 18th Edition
What a week!! Who would have thought we would be hit with a snowstorm like this so early in December! I hope the kids had some time to get out and enjoy the snow. I loved seeing all of the silly outfits and holiday spirit displayed all week! I continue to be impressed with their flexibility and resiliency moving between hybrid and remote learning. There are some life lessons that have been learned through these challenging times for sure! Next week is a shortened week and then we are off for winter break! Please take note of the cohort schedule below!:
The week of December 21st
Monday, December 21 - Cohort A students attend in-person. Cohort B students in remote learning. Four and five day students attend in person.
Tuesday, December 22 – Cohort B students attend in-person. Cohort A students in remote learning. Four and five-day students attend in-person.
Wednesday, December 23 – Half day in-person for the five-day Special Education students. Remote learning half day for all other students.
Winter Break

School reopens January 4th with cohort A in person and cohort B remote
Winter Holiday Parties
Teachers will be holding winter holiday parties in their classrooms on the dates listed below. Thank you to Mrs. Lisa and the PTO for providing a craft for our students! Unless you hear otherwise from your child's teacher, please send in a snack (1 salty 1 sweet permitted) for your child on the date of his/her party. We also encourage students to wear their favorite holiday attire on the days of their party.

Absent Note Change
The WCASD will start accepting parent notes via email for students who are absent from school and an original signature is not required. The email address must be registered in Power School and will be verified by the attendance secretary when the note is received. The email needs to be sent to Elizabeth Johannesen, our attendance secretary, at ejohannesen@wcasd.net (not through Schoology or Seesaw). Please include details of when your child will be absent from school (either partially or the entire day). For early dismissals or late arrivals please be sure to list the exact times.
Parents can still choose to submit notes in paper form within five school days of the absence. Phone calls will not be accepted as documentation of a student’s absence. This goes into effect for absences starting on December 14, 2020 and will remain in place until otherwise notified.
