Four Days!
What a wonderful four days with your students! Thank you for sharing your children with us. We understand how much trust you put in our school when your children come to us each day and we work tirelessly to make sure we are creating an engaging, productive, and safe environment for them. As I have said before, the only way we can do that is by partnering with you. Therefore, please accept this heartfelt "thank you" to all of you for helping to set OUR students up for a successful start to the school year.
We closed the week, on Thursday, by meeting with all of our students in grade level meetings in the pod areas. Mrs. Mullen, our school counselor, and I (along with the grade level teachers) sat down with all of the students and talked about the upcoming year. We used this time to focus on exciting learning topics to come, how we will work together to foster a caring school community, general emergency procedures to ensure everyone's safety, and some open questions and comments from the students. Meeting together with the students always makes for some of my favorite days. Please take a moment to ask your child(ren) about our grade-level meetings.
In addition to Thursday's meeting, classrooms begin each and every day with a Morning Meeting where they come together as a group and work to build our caring school community. To start the year, the homerooms are looking at how our core traits of Compassion, Perseverance, and Respect (CPR) are demonstrated across all school settings: hallways, classrooms, busses or other transportation, cafeteria, bathrooms, and the playground. We will culminate this work next week with a fun assembly on Respect on Thursday, September 9th, and with a whole-school First Friday CPR Assembly on Friday, September 10th!
Four great days are complete. And many, many more to come!
Please take a moment to look through the rest of our Trumbauersville Times newsletter. There you will find information about helping students to make new friends, information about the arrival and dismissal process, and some updates on school lunches and student technology devices.
I hope you all have a great long weekend. We look forward to seeing the students on Tuesday!
Sincerely,
-Adam

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Dear Families:
If you are driving your child to or from school, enter the car parking lot and proceed to the student drop-off area. Please pull forward to the end of the drop-off area so that cars behind you can also move into the area.
During morning drop-off, when your child is safely on the sidewalk, please pull forward and leave the drop-off area. A problem develops when parents sit in their cars and wait until the child enters the building. If you choose to watch your child enter the building, you will need to move from the drop-off area and park your vehicle.
Do not park or leave your vehicle running in the drop-off area (even for a short time) because it creates a backlog of cars that need to circulate through the loop. If you need to come into the building, even for a few moments, please park your car in the lot.
Children should exit the vehicle from the passenger/curbside. This will help to keep the through lane clear and the children safe.
Student arrival time ends at 9:20 AM so there is a 15-minute window of time from 9:05 to 9:20 for students to be dropped off. If your child arrives after the bell rings for classes to start, they should stop in the office for a tardy slip.
Hopefully, with everyone’s cooperation, we can keep the flow of parking lot traffic moving safely.
Car Rider Tags/Link to Dismissal Procedure for your reference
If you are a new student, please print a temporary car tag for your window for the first day your student comes to school. Previous Trumbauersville students will use their car rider tags from last year. If you require new tags, please reach out to the office. New students will get 2 car rider tags on their first day of school. This will replace the temporary tag that you printed for the first day which will no longer be accepted as an official pick-up tag.
Parents can either use the drop-off/pick-up circle for dismissal or if you chose, you can park and walk up to the cafe doors and wait outside under the pavilion for your student.
Do you plan on picking up your child at the end of the day?
We are requesting that you make the office aware of your transportation needs as soon as possible to be ready for the first day of school.
If you are picking up your student every day for the entire 2022-2023 school year, please email Mrs. Lucabeche at klucabeche@qcsd.org and make this request in writing. The email should say something like:
“Dear office staff, I am going to be doing parent pick for the entire 2022-2023 school year, please put -insert student name- on the parent pick up list for daily parent transportation”
The office will add your student (s) name to the parent pick-up list. Please note that if this should change at any time, you are responsible to contacting the school office to make new arrangements.
If you are picking up your students randomly throughout the school year, please email the office the day of the pick-up request. If you get a reply back from the school office, you can be assured that your student (s) will be on the parent pick-up list. If you do not receive a reply from the school office, please call the office at 215.529.2550 to ensure that we get your transportation request. Please do not leave voicemails with transportation changes, continue to call the office until you reach a person that can help you.
School Meals Payment Information
We want to remind families that the federal program to waive the cost of meals for all students is now expired. Therefore, school lunches are no longer free for all families, as they were last year. To pay for school lunches, families can make online payments for student meals at SchoolCafe. If you have an older student who is at the Upper Bucks County Technical School, those lunch accounts for students at the Upper Bucks County Technical School are separate and may be paid at My Payments Plus.
QCSD families may fill out 2022-2023 Free & Reduced Meal Applications. Please keep in mind, that households must submit a new application each school year unless they receive a Direct Certification letter, which was mailed by the district in mid-August.
Also, please note that in order for a meal to qualify for Free and Reduced Meal status the student must take the complete lunch for it to qualify as a reimbursable meal. If the student only takes parts of the lunch, the student may be charged for individual items. This is a federal regulation. Here’s information on what a meal consists of. Please speak with your student(s) to avoid this issue. Also, information about school lunches and the cost of student lunches can be found on our district's Food Service website.

If you have questions, please email sreiss@qcsd.org or call 215-529-2012.
QCSD Technology ADP (Insurance) & Device Distribution
The QCSD Technology Team has a few updates regarding Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) and Chromebook distribution.
ADP / INSURANCE
This is the last week to get those ADP (insurance) payments in. If you selected to pay by cash/check, please complete the attached form and bring it to the District Office with your payment in an envelope. We kindly ask that you do not send cash payments to the schools. We have extended the deadline. Payment must be received by Friday 9/2/22. ADP is an annual fee that needs to be renewed each year, even if you did not use it in the prior year.

DEVICE DISTRIBUTION
Thank you to those of you that attended our device distribution days. We understand that many of you were unable to pick up on the designated days or are new to the district and are eager to get your student's device. Due to the high number of devices that need to be distributed, we are unable to take requests for individual pick-up appointments. The Technology Team has been bringing devices directly to the schools for distribution, so no further action is necessary. Thank you for your patience!
Have a great school year!
