Boise Valley Alumnae Association
Fall 2014 Newsletter
A Message from the President
Upon my return from Kappa Convention, I was extremely excited to put some new ideas into action. My focus was on something I had heard numerous times throughout Convention: What can your association do for you? The BVAA Executive Board is focused on bringing interesting and fun programming to our members, and this is best done not by the few but by the many. That's where you come in.
Membership in Kappa is a two-way street. While Kappa provides a place for friendship, leadership, and fun, its members must also help support Kappa to continue its mission. Our association depends on its members not only for financial support, but also for your ideas, your assistance with leadership, and your participation in the programs we host. Does this mean serving on the Executive Board? Not necessarily. Volunteer to help with an event. Submit a programming idea to the board. Submit a reference form for an incoming freshman. Whatever your contribution may be, doing your little can translate into great things for the association, for your sisters, and for you.
I encourage you to join the association and see what Kappa has to offer you in life after college. Discover new sisters from different generations at Founders Day. Enjoy coffee and holiday cookies while supporting the Rose McGill Holiday Sharing program. Have an event idea you would like to see added to the calendar? Contact a board member and share it with us.
What can the Boise Valley Alumnae Association do for you? Let's find out.
Loyally,
Krista Hafez, College of Idaho
