Weekly News and Updates for the Fine Arts Faculty of PCSD
Happy Friday - Winter Break!!!
*I will be working next week if you need anything. I am at a STEAM event in Columbus the first part of the week but will be back on Wednesday in the office. My focus next week is instructional resource adoption.
Have a great Winter Break!

Fine Arts Day - NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS
We purposefully moved the date to April to allow for greater participation (based on the survey we sent out to you at the end of last year). We need volunteers and performances!
**This day is the MAIN funding source for everything I do for you throughout the year. The teacher grants in the fall and spring, the student scholarships each year, purchases of equipment or district needs (the pugmill to reclaim clay, etc).
Please be involved. Ideally, every single fine arts teacher should take just a few hours and volunteer some time and/or bring a group to perform, send artwork, sponsor a booth, etc. This day is our Super Bowl to show our community that what you do is drastically important to the life of our students and to our county. Please plan to be involved!!
Sign Up for Saturday: CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP AS A VOLUNTEER
Have your students sign up to help: CLICK HERE FOR STUDENT VOLUNTEERS
**PERFORMANCES - These are important! They bring the crowd! Please sign your groups up to perform. This year, they can perform in the theatre OR a small ensemble can perform in the gym. We need a solid representation from EVERY CLUSTER OF SCHOOLS.
Immediate REQUIRED Action - District Fine Arts Calendar
**This calendar is directly connected to each to our Administrative, Board Member, and Superintendent's calendars as well as to our website.
- We have been specifically directed to have it updated immediately.
**Everyone has access to this calendar. If you have questions about that, please email DJ McConnell at DMcConnell@pauldng.k12.ga.us

FINAL CALL for Instructional Resource Feedback
I will not consider any feedback after Tuesday of this coming week as I will begin working on it on Wednesday when I get back in town.
Grant Window Closing AHEAD
Reminder that the deadline is Thursday, February 28 by 4p.m.
Guidelines in the Past:
1. Must have participated in Fine Arts Day or Paulding's Next Star as a volunteer or teacher sending participants/bringing a performing group, etc. for two years
2. Must not receive two consecutive grant cycles
3. 1 Grant per level - elementary, middle, high
**SPECIAL NOTE - I am not opposed to waiving one of these guidelines if no applications come in that fall in those categories. I want the money to be used in classrooms NOT just sitting in the account because no one applied.
