RCS students join local law enforcement in R.A.D. training
During the month of May, a number of RCS High School Seniors registered to take part in the Albany County Sheriffβs self-defense program called R.A.D. through the school. According to their website, R.A.D offers effective self-defense options for women to remain safe while allowing them to actively improve their self-defense skill sets and social-emotional well-being. - MS & HS Genders & Sexualities Alliances Clubs -- Homeless Youth Donation Drive: For the month of May, the Middle & High School GSA Clubs are currently running a supply donations drive to collect necessary supplies to help out youth who cannot stay in their homes and need a safe place to stay. They are looking for the following items: toothbrushes, soap, body wash, slippers, shampoo, loofahs, masks, school supplies, backpacks, activity gift cards (ex. movies, bowling, etc.), travel-size toothpaste, travel-size deodorant, and travel-size mouthwash. Please note that no monetary donations are accepted.
- Class of 2023 -- Bottle and Can Collections: Bring your empty bottles and cans to Just Makes Cents at 2381 Route 9W in Ravena and ask them to apply your total to the Class of 2023 account. The fundraiser runs all year long.
Class of 2023 -- Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser: Join us in the fun and send our flock to friends, neighbors, & family members! Unsuspecting loved ones will walk out their front door to their yard full of our flock of pink flamingos! Flocks will rest for 24 hours in each location, where that person will choose to either βflock it onβ to someone else or simply have them removed. Participate now through the end of May.
