Background

The capital of Jamaica is Kingston. Jamaica's population is 2,930,050. Major cities include Negil and Linstead. They used to be controlled by by England but declared independence in 1962. They've been independent ever since then. Their official language is Jamaican English.

The country is located in the Caribbean. Jamaica has various mountains and costal plains. The island is between the Cayman Trench and the Jamaican Channel.

Political and Diplomatical Information

Jamaica has a constitutional parlimentary governement. The beautiful island is lead by Portia Lucretia Simpson-Miller. The country is on good terms with other countries.

Ecocnomy and Trade

Jamaica's currency is the Jamaican dollar. They have a capitalism economic system. Their main export includes: bauxite, alumina, sugar, rum, coffee, yams, and different chemicals. These are often exported to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. They import goods from the United States, Trinadad, Tobago, Venezula, and Brazil. The gods imported include: consumer goods, fuel, parts of capital goods, machinery and transport equipment, and construction materials.
