Nurse's Corner
Exclusion day for state required immunizations is Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Students who are not current will not be able to attend school until their records are complete. Letters will be mailed the first week of February to parents whose children are incomplete and will be excluded if not updated by February 20, 2019. If you do not receive a letter than you are up-to-date with your immunizations.
Please arrange for your child to receive needed immunizations so that they can remain in school. If you need assistance in locating a health care provider or clinic site, please contact your child’s school.
February is National Dental Month!
Lifelong habits begin at home. The whole family can make dental health part of their daily routine by sharing these reminders:
Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, especially after breakfast and before bedtime.
Floss every day. An adult should help a child under the age of 8 but older children should be ready to floss on their own.
Limit the number of times you eat snacks, especially the sticky ones and long lasting ones.
Visit a dentist regularly for a routine check up and a cleaning.
Don’t forget, the school nurse can help your family find a dental home to keep your teeth healthy!
