Nostalgia
The last few weeks have been full of transition events like meeting virtually with our rising 6th graders, sorting yearbooks, building next year's calendars and schedules, and preparing for a final celebration for a special group of 8th graders. In our final full week of school, which may seem like the longest year for many of us, now is a good time to reflect back on our accomplishments. I thought about taking this time to go through the year and talk specifically about all of the hurdles and challenges and how we persevered. Instead, I want to talk about the feelings that accompanied our hard work. We built trust together as a community. We showed empathy and compassion at every turn. We reemphasized family and connections over getting the job done. We were successful. We did this together. Thank you for coming along for the ride. It’s been quite the journey.
Speaking of the journey, let's finish with some SPIRIT!

Eagle Scout Project at Seneca: Dear Seneca Ridge Parents, My name is Cole Deaso and I'm an 8th grader at Seneca Ridge Middle School. I'm also a Boy Scout in troop 673, and have started fundraising for my Eagle Scout Project. Ever since COVID happened lumber tripled in price. A 2 x 4 used to be $2.50 - $3.00 before COVID, and now it's $8.00 - $9.30 at Home Depot. I'm having a hard time fundraising my goal amount to complete my project. I'm building an 8 x 8 shed to store recess equipment. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Write checks payable to Troop 673 c/o Cole Deaso Eagle Project and mail checks to Cole Deaso at 20832 Waterbeach Pl, Sterling, Va. 20165.
