Virtual Learning

We are all set and ready for virtual learning to begin on Monday. Supplies have been either picked up by parents or taken home over the past several days by students. As we transition into virtual learning again, please know that we will do everything that we can to make this go as smoothly as possible. Our teachers have worked hard to prepare for this day. Please take a look at the Students Expectations, Family Expectations, Attendance Procedures, Asynchronous Wednesdays, and Materials/Devices information in the first link below. After reading the information if you still have questions, feel free to reach out to us. We are here to help!

Here is another link with remote learning tips for parents that you might find interesting.

West End YMCA Childcare Opportunity and Virtual Learning

We thought this might be helpful for some parents as they navigate the virtual school day. This seems like a wonderful opportunity for kids as well as parents. Check out the link below!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We would like to take this time to wish all of our Jefferson Families a very happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for all you do to support us with helping your child learn and grow. School will not be in session on Thursday, November 25th, Friday, November 26th, or Monday, November 30th. We will return to virtual learning on Tuesday, December 1st. We hope that you have a relaxing break and enjoy spending time with your family.

After surveying some of our students, these are the top 10 things they are thankful for

  • Friends
  • Teachers
  • Pets
  • Community
  • Books
  • Food
  • Turkey
  • Parents and Grandparents
  • School

The number one thing that they are thankful for....... Family!

Positive Shout Outs

We would like to recognize the following students for being true to their pride promise. These students were selected by a staff member for going out of their way to do something above and beyond! Keep up the good work! All names will be announced on the morning announcements and the reason each student was recognized will hang outside the office on a bulletin board. Check out their pictures below.😊

Spotlight on Third Grade!

This week we are showing off our third-grade classes. Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Molnar, and Mrs. Turk's classes are acquiring many new skills. It is impressive to walk through and see all the learning taking place and to see the students in action. Some highlights for all third graders over the past few weeks:

Math: Learning to multiply and divide

Language Arts: Beverly Cleary author study and reading The Wild Robot

Skills: Cause and effect, sequencing, figurative language, and text features

Science: Starting to learn the 3 states of matter and have been working on the scientific method

Social Studies: Studying election vocabulary and learning about national landmarks

The third graders have also spent time practicing online learning routines and procedures as well as strategies for success while learning virtually.

We are proud of our third-grade classes! Keep up the good work! 🌟⭐️💫
