Project Linus Blankets

Monday, Nov. 9th, 3:30pm

Ag Classroom

The FFA Community Service Project for November is making tie blankets benefiting Project Linus. In lieu of a traditional FFA meeting, FFA members will stay after school on Monday November 9, 2020 from 3:30-5:30 pm to make blankets. Any student younger than 4th grade must have a parent present due to using sharp scissors. All students need to be picked up by 5:30 pm.

You need 2 pieces of fleece, 2 yards each. You can watch the video link if your child would like to make one at home. Please turn in blankets by Friday, November 13th. If you would like to donate the fleece for an FFA member to make a blanket, bring the fleece to the high school office by Wednesday, November 4th.

MASK ARE REQUIRED! If a student will not wear a mask, a parent will be called and student will need to be picked up immediately.

Miller Grove FFA Livestock Show ~ December 5, 2020

The MG FFA Livestock Show is Saturday December 5th at the Bull Creek Cowboy Church. This is a jackpot for all 4-H and FFA age exhibitors (not just MG ISD students) showing steers, beef heifers, dairy heifers, lambs, goats and hogs. Entries are $35 per head.

MGISD students can "earn" an entry fee by working 2 hours on Friday and/or Saturday at the show. For example:

2 hours work = 1 entry fee

4 hours work = 2 entry fees

Flyer has been posted on Facebook and Instagram. Please share with anyone you know who shows livestock. Since the announcement that Fort Worth Stock Show has cancelled, we want to make this show great for all the junior exhibitors.

This show is a huge fundraiser for the Miller Grove FFA chapter. We were short on sponsors for the scheduled January 2020 show. If anyone knows a person or business that would like to sponsor a buckle or award, please pick up a sponsor letter.

Address of show: 9591 US-69, Point, TX 75472

Quality Counts

**REMINDER** If you are going to show a livestock project at any major show or NETLA, you must have an up-to-date Quality Counts number PRIOR to turning in entries and/or tag-in.

If your child completed QC last year, but has moved up a division in grade (Junior grade 3-5, Intermediate (grade 6-8) and Senior (grade 9-12), they will need to renew their QC number.

For more info, see Mrs. Martin. Don't wait until the last minute to complete this.
