WEEK SIX
It has been quite a week.
I'm thrilled to announce that the past two days of lunch and recess have been a great success. I appreciate your help in reinforcing positive behavior. Students have learned the following three expectations for lunch/recess.
1. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
2. Stay at your table/in the boundaries.
3. Listen to adults.
Each day at lunch, we are speaking to students by grade about these three fundamental behaviors that lead to a successful and safe experience. We are modeling behaviors along with one on one time to help any students who may need additional support. I can see that we have much work to do to bring our school climate to a place where every student is part of a larger vision. But I know we can achieve it, working with your students.
There was much discussion about my decision on Thursday. I tried to take into account many different perspectives to help bring about a positive outcome. Thank you to Superintendent McAndrews and the many parents who sent me suggestions and recommendations for moving our school forward. I'm lucky to be part of a proactive, kind and caring community.
PLEASE JOIN US TOMORROW AT OPEN HOUSE FROM 6-8pm. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
If you have anything you would like to talk about with me, please do not hesitate to reach out,
Jarred Haas, Principal
