School Board Updates

Registering Our Youngest Cadets!

We are currently registering students for our Kindergarten Round Up in May. Students need to turn 5 years old by August 1, 2023 to attend kindergarten next fall.

We also have opening for our Little Cadets Preschool for the 2023-2024 school year. Preschoolers need to turn 4 by August 1, 2023.

We are spreading the word so that our Mill Creek families and interested transfer families have this information.

Men in Action

Men in Action, through Hendricks County Sheltering Wings, will be reading to students on Thursday, March 16th, and they are looking for more to register. Please share to help us fill the spots! Follow this link to register.

New Playground at MCE Update...

All of the playground equipment has been ordered! It is scheduled to arrive in mid to late June so we are hoping the build will be completed before school begins. We do have to remove a few trees off of the current land to accommodate the playground but will be planting double what we remove in other areas on the playground. We will do a ribbon cutting night when it is complete and invite former students who helped raise the funds to build the playground. Here are a few design pictures for you to preview in PDF format.

Principal for the Day!

Bristol W. recently served as the "Principal" at Mill Creek East. She had a very busy day and deciding at the end of the day she'd rather be a 2nd grader. Bristol welcomed students, worked on attendance and collected lunch money, completed classroom visits, did two lunch duties, passed our SOAR tickets to students doing a great job, and handed out little treats to our staff. She has a bright future ahead of her whether she becomes a principal or chooses a different career path.

MCE held a fund raiser to help support field trip fees for our students. Students were able to purchase tickets for a chance to be Principal for the day.

Glow Day at MCE

In February our students earned a whole school SOAR reward - Glow Day! The students were invited to wear their neon and bright colors and were given glow necklaces. Many of our classrooms "Glowed" the whole day. Our students at MCE always GLOW!

Enrichment Club Day

On Friday, Feb. 17th we had Enrichment Clubs at MCE. Our afternoon was filled with amazing opportunities for all our students. The students were able to choose their club of choice to attend. We had lots of choices including - learning about horses, STEM clubs, paper airplane building, a tour of Japan, yoga, clay sculpting, and so much more!

Thank You to AA Septic!

AA Septic in Clayton recently matched our Dine to Donate earning at CJ Pizza to help cover the expenses of our upcoming 5th grade Bradford Woods fieldtrip. They generously donated $650 towards the fees of the trip. MCE appreciates their support. Please consider using AA Septic for your upcoming needs!

Walk-A-Thon Platinum Sponsors

Our Walk-A-Thon was a success for many reasons. We do want to recognize our platinum sponsors - Shirt Tales and Napier Drywall. We thank them for their investment in MCE!
