No School Wednesday-Friday

There is no school this week on Wednesday November 23 through Friday November 25. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break! We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday November 28.

Words of Wisdom

As you know, the Ethical Principle of the Month for November is Gratitude. With the Thanksgiving holiday this week, this is the perfect time to reflect on Gratitude.

There's a West African proverb that goes like this: Ungratefulness is sooner or later fatal to its author. In other words, when a person is constantly ungrateful toward life and toward others, sooner or later something dies inside that person.

What dies? The joy that comes from being grateful for the blessings we may enjoy each and every day . . . like the blessings of food and shelter, the blessing of receiving an education, the gift of a smile or a hug.

This week as you prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, take some time to make a list of all the things you are grateful for and then practice a little gratitude.

Ethical Principle of the Month: Gratitude

Photos Needed!

Staff, students, and families! Ms. Michalak would love to have your best photos for the CPA yearbook!

If you have pics of CPA students in action, please share them! Think class projects, field trips, athletics, dances, and more. Ms. Michalak didn't become the yearbook editor until after the fall sports seasons, so we especially need soccer and volleyball photos.

Please email photos to kimm@cpapk12.org and include date, names, and grades. Thanks for supporting the CPA yearbook!

Picture Retake Day is Dec 1!

CPA's Picture Retake Day is on Thursday December 1. Families can order photos using the instructions on the envelope that was sent home with students, or families can order online by visiting mylifetouch.com and entering Picture Day ID EVTQ4P4W3. All students will have their picture taken, regardless of whether the family orders pictures. Students who did not get their photo taken on November 1 will get their picture taken on December 1.

If your student is needing to have their picture retaken, they may come in the attire for that photo. Please keep in mind the policy for non-uniform days.

Weather & Clothing

As we know, Minnesota weather can change quickly, and this time of year we see drastic swings in temperature and other weather issues. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing to be comfortable and safe throughout the day, including at arrival, recess, and dismissal. Thank you!

School Pay

Are you looking for an easier way to make payments at school? Create a SchoolPay account!

SchoolPay accounts make it easier to process any payments you need to make to the school, athletics department, or cafeteria. Families can complete the application for free and reduced price lunch through School Pay, and families who receive free or reduced price lunch can also print their determination letter, which can be used to receive discounts at museums, MTC, and more!
