Trench Warfare Simulation

Ninth grade social studies classes came together last Wednesday to take part in a World War I Trench Warfare Simulation. Students were put into trenches that contained information about weapons used during World War I. Squads of students in each trench worked together to match a primary source quote, a visual, and factual information to increase their understanding of how World War I was different from all previous wars. Students were also barraged with flashing lights and loud video clips from the classic movie All Quiet on the Western Front.
