HOW ARE YOU FEELING?
Being able to identify and manage our emotions is a particularly helpful skill as we weather through this unprecedented time together. Below are some tips and activities on how to recognize your feelings and how to help your children learn to do this as well.

Helping Children Identify Emotions
Using an Emotions Wheel
Talk through each of the emotions on the wheel. Identify;
What is this emotion? How does our body feel when we feel angry/sad/happy? How does our face look?
Can you share an example of a time that you felt angry/sad/happy?
Can you draw a picture of that memory in this part of the wheel?
Repeat for each section of the wheel.
Alternatively, you could ask your child to draw their face when they feel each emotion. Or to draw or write how their body reacts to that emotion.
