Message from Dr. Richard Woods - GA State Superintendent
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) wants to spread the word about the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which provides families affordable access to internet services. The program is a long-term funding source not associated with pandemic relief funds. ACP assists eligible households in paying for home internet access by providing a credit of up to $30 per month toward internet service. Additionally, ACP provides a voucher of up to $100 per eligible household toward a one-time purchase of a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet.
For more information about the services offered by CTC, please see the attached flyer and visit the Georgia Student Connect website at https://gastudentconnect.org/.
Sincerely,
Dr. Richard Woods
State Superintendent of Schools

The Flu & Student Absences
Over the past couple weeks, we have seen a significant rise in the number of absences of our student population. To attempt to mitigate the spread of sickness, we have begun fogging classrooms. Teachers and custodians will continue to sanitize hard surfaces throughout the day, as well as encourage hand-washing.
If your child is sick, please keep him/her home. The spread of cold and flu is significant in our community right now, and we want to come together to keep our staff and students well.
When your child returns to school, remember to send him/her with a note explaining the reason for the absence, which will allow it to be excused. After three days of parent notes each semester, per district policy, we require a doctor's note in order for absences to be excused.
Thank you for your attention to keeping our community safe and well!
Please reach out to your local school nurse or administrator with any questions.
