Thanksgiving Blessings

As we all gather this week to express gratitude for the many blessings we enjoy, know that we count each one of our students and MSA families among them. Happy Thanksgiving from the MSA family to yours!

Thanksgiving Meals

Students, teachers, and parents prepared delicious Thanksgiving meals across campus Tuesday.

Each primary class hosted a meal for their families.

Upper Elementary students baked pies for dessert; their room smelled amazing! They took the opportunity for a math lesson by baking a pie with the pi symbol on it!

Lower Elementary students cooked a Stone Soup -- each student provided just a small amount of an ingredient, and the combination of everyone's contributions created a delectable concoction.
Middle and High School students, teachers, and families shared a Thanksgiving feast.

Showing Off Our Work

Students took advantage of the chance to show off their hard work to their visiting family members.

Thanksgiving Blessing

Students and their teachers gathered at the flagpole to give each other blessings as they celebrated Thanksgiving together. Tuesday was also the culmination of a month of gathering donations for Pennies for People and food donations for the Soup Kitchen.

Operation: Share the Warmth Tree

As the holiday season approaches, we look to the spirit of giving and service to others. Once again this year, MSA will be sponsoring the “Operation: Share the Warmth” Tree.

Here’s how the service project works. I will be placing a Christmas tree in the front office of the Montessori Administrative building during the Thanksgiving break. The Christmas tree will only have a ribbon on the top of tree and lights. Our students, families, MSA classrooms and clubs are asked to provide the decorations.

The decorations should consist of new mittens, gloves, socks and scarves. If you have gently used jackets, coats and shoes they will gladly be accepted. Some of you may remember how beautiful the tree looked last year, all decked out in warm clothing finery!!!

The tree will remain on campus until the December 19th when the school closes for the Winter Holiday. The items will then be donated a local charity organization, Anderson Interfaith Ministries. This project allows our Montessori students and families to provide the basic need of warmth to those who may not have the ability to stay warm during the cold winter months. Thank you in advance for your generosity!!!

Yearbooks

Students on the yearbook staff are hard at work selling business ads and getting spreads together for our first deadline next Friday. If you haven't yet, please follow this link or stop by the office to purchase your child's 2018-2019 yearbook. The yearbook price goes up soon, so purchase yours today! If you are interested in purchasing a business ad for your company, please email Matt Dabney at mdabney@msasc.org for more information.

The proofs for our Fall portraits have come in and will be going home next week. We will also be taking make-up portraits and reshoots next week -- please keep an eye out for an email setting up a portrait date as the weather forecast becomes more clear.
