School wide Discipline Management Plan

Ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment is my top priority! In order to provide that our school must live by a set of rules and procedures that encourage safety, security, and a general overall well being for the students and staff.

The following documents are now being implemented school wide. Please take time to review our school rules and procedures for handling disruptive behavior.

I also ask that you take time to review the school expectations with your children. Thank you so much for your support.

Teaching and Learning Focus- Math Special

Ms. Prochaska our math specialist provides engaging hands on learning lessons during the specials rotation. Each lesson begins with a math warm up, spiraling math skills taught throughout the school year, as reinforcement. Once the math brain is warmed up she focuses teaching with an essential question, then modeling and practice. Next students give it a go and practice skills together in "game" format. Who doesn't love to play a game?! The lesson comes to an end with sharing and summarizing of the skill.

This week, I observed 3rd grade students engaged in a fractions lesson. The students had to determine if one fraction was greater than or less than the other fraction. Did you know the larger the denominator, the smaller the fractional part? If not, just ask an Arcado 3rd grader.

Want to learn more about fractions and other math skills. LearnZillion & Khan Academy are online resources for math instruction.
