Long Hill Montessori School Summer Camp & Alumni Reunion
The summer sessions at LHMS offer young children a unique day camp experience where they can explore & enjoy the summer season's natural rhythms in a fun, nurturing and peaceful environment. The core Montessori principles of confidence, independence and peace for children are woven throughout the curriculum. There are many opportunities for children to engage in both self-directed activities & cooperative play. LHMS camp days are filled with nature studies, outdoor fun, gardening, building, singing and much more! In addition, each week features a variety of activities designed around a focused theme.
The fee for each session (2 weeks) is $500. LHMS camp welcomes all children ages 3 -7. We are looking forwarded to seeing Long Hill Montessori alumni.

WEEK 5 & WEEK 6: EXPLORING THE BIOMES
What if the first impression children receive of their world is of land and ocean, mountains and deserts, forests and grasslands, wetlands and frozen poles rather than abstract, divisive, political boundaries? Children will begin to make connections and think more critically. We’ll study elements of the biomes: animals, air, energy, plants, soil and water. We’ll visit our own biome, the Temperate Forest on the playground of our camp where we’ll collect soil, leaves and seeds. But a Temperate Forest is not the only kind of biome
