Literacy News from Mrs. Porter
Attention 2nd Graders: The Reading All-Stars Greenville Drive game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd at 7:05. Students will need to exchange their tickets/vouchers by visiting or calling the Drive Box Office. Unfortunately, you cannot exchange tickets using their website. We hope you can make it!
The $1 book store will be open on the following dates in May. These are the last dates for this school year:
K4/K5: May 18
1st: May 4
2nd: May 11
Reading Tip: April was National Poetry Month and many of our classrooms read and wrote poetry throughout the month. Kids NEED poetry! It builds early literacy skills with rhyme and repetition. Rhythm and rhyme can help students decode unfamiliar words. Poetry is also less intimidating since it’s often shorter. So pick up a good book of poems and read them with your child today!
A Note from Mrs. Gannon
It has a been a great year working with your children in the library!
Important Dates to Remember:
