February was a such a fun and busy month! We decorated Valentine's cookies, went rock climbing, ice skating, played sports, supported our school teams, did homework, ate healthy snacks, and so much more! Please look forward to these events in March. I promise I will do better at taking more photos of your students!

¡Febrero fue un mes muy divertido y ocupado! Decoramos galletas de San Valentín, escalamos rocas, patinamos sobre hielo, practicamos deportes, apoyamos a nuestros equipos escolares, hicimos la tarea, comimos refrigerios saludables y mucho más. Espere estos eventos en marzo. ¡Prometo que lo haré mejor tomando más fotos de sus estudiantes!

At the start of the semester, January 9, I started as the Out of School Time Coordinator at Center Schools. I spend much of my time at the CVYC building, but can be found at the school or on various field trips! I am a Center High School graduate and continued my education at Colorado Mesa University. While in Grand Junction I married another SLV native and we got our first puppy. We moved to Omaha, Nebraska and then to Phoenix, Arizona where we welcomed our first baby girl! My husband attended Creighton University's Medical School Physician Assistant Program and graduated in December 2022. I attend Prescott College where I am completing my Master of Science in Environmental Science. I worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the last two years doing environmental education in Arizona. During winter break 2022 my family (including our now 5 dogs!) and I moved back to the San Luis Valley where we now live and work. My husband works as a PA at SLV Health. We are both excited to give back to the communities that gave so much to us. Al comienzo del semestre, el 9 de enero, comencé como Coordinador de Tiempo Fuera de Clases en Center Schools. Paso gran parte de mi tiempo en el edificio CVYC, ¡pero se me puede encontrar en la escuela o en varias excursiones! Me gradué de Center High School y continué mi educación en la Universidad de Colorado Mesa. Mientras estaba en Grand Junction me casé con otro nativo de SLV y obtuvimos nuestro primer cachorro. ¡Nos mudamos a Omaha, Nebraska y luego a Phoenix, Arizona, donde le dimos la bienvenida a nuestra primera niña! Mi esposo asistió al Programa de Asistente Médico de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Creighton y se graduó en diciembre de 2022. Asisto a Prescott College, donde estoy completando mi Maestría en Ciencias Ambientales. Trabajé como miembro de AmeriCorps VISTA durante los últimos dos años en educación ambiental en Arizona. Durante las vacaciones de invierno de 2022, mi familia (¡incluidos nuestros 5 perros ahora!) y yo regresamos al Valle de San Luis, donde ahora vivimos y trabajamos. Mi esposo trabaja como PA en SLV Health. Ambos estamos emocionados de retribuir a las comunidades que tanto nos dieron.
