Big picture

Albert.io

Albert.io is up and running for the 2019-20 school year for our students-not just our AP students but any student looking to improve their ACT or SAT scores. With over 50,000 practice questions in a variety of subjects such as the APs, SATs, and ACTs, students and teachers use the site to improve their outcomes. Each question features detailed explanations so learners can fully understand why they got a question right or incorrect.

Albert has dashboards that allow educators to create classrooms, invite their students, and track performance and usage in real-time. Teachers are able to create custom assignments for single topics, themes, or entire subjects if they wish.

How to Get Started:

1) Create an account by going to Albert.io and click Sign Up in the top right. Make sure to select I'm a teacher and fill in the rest of the fields. Confirm with email.

2) Create a Class by clicking the Classes-->New Class and give it a name. Connect your class account to Southwestern High School and add the subject (s) you want your students to have access to. Feel free to add multiple subjects to your class.

3) Invite or Enroll Students by showing them the class code or typing their email. You also have the option to import your Google Classroom rosters.

Professional Growth Plan

Please join the appropriate principal's classroom so that you have access to your Professional Growth Plan to complete. This is due September 15th. If you have questions or need help, please schedule a time to meet with your principal on your planning.

PBIS-Student and Staff of the Week

As part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, we like to encourage good behavior on at least a weekly basis. Please fill out positive comment cards to students in the designated block and return those cards to Shaun Dyer to be mailed each week. Also, if you know of a student or staff member who exemplifies the ARROW to Success, send their names to Jessica Masten so that she can choose our Student/Staff Member of the Week. Send those names to her before Friday each week.

Class of 2020 Senior Yearbook Pictures

Please announce to Seniors:

Senior girls will have their pictures taken on Thursday, September 5th. Senior girls - be sure to wear a tank top UNDER your clothing that day.

Senior boys will have their picture taken on Friday, September 6th. Senior boys - be sure to wear a light-colored t-shirt, preferably white, that day.

504 Accommodation Plans

If your name was on the email sent out by Mr. Hargis concerning 504 Accommodation Plans, please stop by the Guidance Office to pick those up and sign on each student's plan in the binder.

Success With Higher Standards

Southwestern High School will strive to graduate every student college/career ready and prepared for the 21st century.
