Letter from the Principal
We hope your children enjoyed their spring break and had a great first week back at school! We were glad to see them and are even more eager to begin welcoming some students back to school full time on Monday, April 12th. Whether your child will be learning in person or remotely, we are looking forward to a positive end to a challenging year. It is hard to believe that two months from today will be the students’ last day of school. We still have lots of learning to do and also look forward to some celebrations to close the school year.
Teacher assignments for the last part of the school year will be sent via email on Monday, April 5th. We have made every effort to minimize movement and to prevent students from having a third teacher. However, there were cases where numbers of students in a section or teacher assignments (remote or in person) made this impossible. In preparation for the upcoming transition, all students who are having a new teacher will “meet” the teacher sometime next week via Zoom or a phone call. For most, this will happen during the school day on Wednesday, April 7th. If your child has not had an opportunity to Zoom or speak with his or her new teacher by the end of the day on April 8th, please let me know.
On April 12th, we will revert to our typical school schedule for all students. Our day will officially begin at 8:50AM and end at 3:20PM with a one hour lunch/recess from 11:50-12:50. Our school office hours will again be 8am-4pm. Ms. Dillon and I are updating our video about in person learning. This will be shared next week for families of those coming in person to watch together prior to April 12th. The video will include information about arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess and other routines. There will not be a video for students who are staying remote because the structure of their day won’t change.
You may have seen the district’s posting for lunch and recess supervisors. These are paid positions. We need more supervisors so that we can meet the state mandated six feet of space between students and keep classes separated for recess. If you are willing to take one of these positions, please fill out the application at this link. We also continue to be short substitute teachers almost every day and this need will likely increase as we bring more students back to the building. Please consider applying to be a substitute teacher at this link.
If your child is currently in person or coming in person on April 12th, please send extra masks in his or her backpack. The masks sometimes get wet, dirty or broken during the day. Also, please make sure that cloth masks are washed after each day of wear.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly

Technology Issues
Although technology can work well, there are times when it just does not work correctly. Teachers will not be available to respond to emails during instructional times. Instead, please submit a Remote Learning Technology Support form by clicking here. Once submitted, someone from our District Technology Team will contact you to provide assistance.
If you experience a technical issue, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Restart the Chromebook (make sure it turns all the way off before turning back on).
Quit any unused applications.
Sign out of an application if it's not working, and sign back in.
Move closer to your internet router if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
Turn off any accessibility features i.e., contrast mode, special cursor that may be set on the Chromebook. These can cause applications to run slow.
