SOAR Updates

SOAR Updates - 1/8/2021

Second Semester Classes Have Begun!

Both high school and college classes will resume with all students participating in the “At-home” Learning Model for the time being on Monday, January 11, 2021. This is similar to how we ended our last semester.

As a reminder, students should check their schedules in PowerSchool and in MyAVC in the case there have been minor changes. Several AVC courses have had adjustments and we've had to make a few adjustments to high school classes as well, so again, please make sure to review your schedules. If you have any questions regarding student schedules, students can use the SOAR Counseling Drop-in Hours which are posted and offered daily in SOAR Google Classrooms. For a private meeting with our counselor, please visit

As a reminder, our office will remain temporarily closed to the public. Please visit the "Contact Us" page on if you need to connect with a staff or faculty member. We thank you for your patience as we want all of our SOAR community to stay safe and healthy!

AVC Book Distribution/Access Codes

Please visit for SOAR/AVC book and access code information. Access codes will be purchased through virtual sessions instead of on campus this semester. Again, for more detailed information on anything related to books for AVC courses, visit the link provided above.

Attendance has a direct correlation to student success! If you miss a high school class for an excusable reason, parents/guardians must email Mrs. Andrews to clear the absence: and follow up with your teachers for assignments. Students should follow up directly with college instructors in the case of an absence. Although we are not on campus, we are still responsible for record keeping. Please make attending both your high school and college classes a priority!
