What is the BPS Community News?
The BPS Community News is a student-focused communication that is distributed monthly during the school year to our students, families, and staff across the District. The BPS Community News is designed to provide a one-stop shop for all BPS news, youth sports, activities, and happenings in and around the community. All advertisements promote activities and programs that provide a benefit or service to the students, families, and staff of the Bellevue Public School District.

Swim Lessons
Registration Process
The Lied Activity Center will have registration periods for families to sign up for our 3-12 years old swim lesson program. You will be able to choose the time and date of the session when you register during the dates listed below. Early sign ups are encouraged to ensure your desired time. Payment is due at the time of registration.
Session 1: Registration Period October 19 – November 1, 2020
Youth Swim Lessons / 3-12 years old
Learn to swim while having fun with our trained instructors. We offer Pre-school (3-4 years old only) and levels one through six at the Lied Activity Center. All our swim instructors are American Red Cross certified lifeguards.
Levels: Pre-school – Level 6
Cost: $55 members; $75 non-members
Tuesdays
Session 1: Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec. 1, 8, 15
Classes 1. 6:30 – 6:55 p.m.
2. 7:00 – 7:25 p.m.
3. 7:30 – 7:55 p.m.
* Class sizes will be reduced to help maintain social distancing. The 5 minutes between classes will be used to clean.

Halloween
Halloween is approaching and it is up to each resident to decide whether you'd like to engage in Halloween activities. This Halloween, we must find a balance between protecting our residents and individual responsibility. We ask you to respect your neighbors and use extra caution. Looking for ways to help celebrate Halloween in a safe, new way? Visit our website at https://www.sarpycasshealthdepartment.org/10820 for tips as well as door signs for Halloween night.
Bellevue Library and Virtual Author Visits
Bellevue Library has several virtual author visits coming up. Some are Golden Sower nominees and it would be great for the kids to connect with the authors they will be reading. Preregistration links are included. If possible, please share with teachers & students so they may attend if they wish. Space is limited and autographed copies of the book are up for grabs each month. These books have a variety of target ages.
