Student Council wants to promote a little homecoming fun!
MONDAY - PJ DAY - Wear your morning attire for the day.
WEDNESDAY - RICHMOND RED - Get out your red to show your support. It is also our Walk to School Day!
FRIDAY - RED/WHITE/BLUE DAY - Wear your colors in support of Appleton East!
MONDAY - FREE VISION SCREENING DURING SCHOOL
We are fortunate to have a great partnership with our community. The Appleton Area School District, in collaboration with the Appleton Noon Lions Club, will be providing vision screening for students at Richmond Elementary School on October 2nd, 2023. This screening is made possible through grants from St. Elizabeth Hospital/Ascension and from the Pfefferle Family Foundation.
If you do not wish to have your child participate in this vision screening, please contact our school office at (920) 852-5520.
MONDAY - AFTER SCHOOL - CHAMPIONSHIP MARTIAL ARTS
We have partnered up with Championship Martial Arts again to offer a 4 lesson package that takes place at Richmond. Championship will take students through an introductory course of martial arts. The cost is $25.00. 100% of this money will come back to Richmond. If you need help with this cost, please contact the office. You should have found the flyer in your child's backpack.
TUESDAY- Packer Experience for 2nd - 6th Grade Students
Richmond will be at Lambeau Thursday to enjoy the Packer experience. Hopefully you were able to do the online permission form. Students will be leaving in the morning and returning to eat a cold lunch around Richmond.
WEDNESDAY - Walk Your Child to School Day at Richmond
We invite you to join your child in walking to school to celebrate healthy lifestyles, practice safe walking routes, and enjoy the fresh air.
We encourage all Richmond students to wear school apparel to show school spirit! Red Day!
Parents, adults and students walking together may have their picture taken on the Richmond playground during the event.
Our Fuel Up team will provide a healthy treat to all students at the “Walk Your Child to School Day” table.
Students can sign up for free raffles prizes that will be handed out at the end of the day.
Everything takes place before school. We will have a little music. We will hang out with the "celebrities . It is just a fun little pre-school celebration of biking to school.
FRIDAY - HOMECOMING PARADE - JOIN RICHMOND 5:15 PM AT MEADE POOLE
Richmond students have been invited to walk with the high school students in the Homecoming Parade for Appleton East.
Meet at the Mead Pool parking lot on John Street by 5:15 pm.
The parade will start at 5:30 pm and the route is about 1-mile long (to the Schaefer lot at East).
Look for your school group or signs: Tentative Parade Line Up 2023
Dress up in East colors (red, white, and blue), make signs, decorate wagons, scooters, or bikes - be creative and have fun!
Families should follow the route and pick up your child at the Appleton East Parking Lot right by the football field.
Things that you should know if you are interested in joining us for the football game:
East is playing Appleton North at the Homecoming Football Game following the parade (7pm).
Child parade participants will receive a free ticket to the game if accompanied by a supervising adult. (Adults will need to pay the game entrance fee.)
DONATE CANDY TO RICHMOND PARADE
If you are willing to donate a bag of candy, we always have a great time giving candy to all the parade spectators. Bring a bag to school so we can share it with all students during the parade. We go through MANY bags of candy on the parade route.
TEACHER CONFERENCES - FALL FEEDBACK SIGN UP

PTO HOSTS A TEACHER MEAL - LOOKING FOR DONATIONS
The Richmond PTO will be supplying dinner for the teachers on conference night. In the past, we have requested $5 dollar donations. If you are interested in helping out there are several ways you can donate:
1. Drop money off in the office.

FREE DENTAL CLINIC (For those who qualify) - Paper sent home
Your child should have brought home a dental form. If you qualify, there is a dental clinic that comes to Richmond. Please read through the form.
Here are the qualifications:
1. Student qualifies for free/reduced lunch or has a Forward Card for Medicaid (BadgerCare)
AND
2. You do NOT have private dental insurance.
If you qualify, then return those forms to Richmond's office as soon as possible.

TOUGH KID CHALLENGE
Saturday, October 7, 2023 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Highlands Elementary School
Fox Valley Tough Kid Challenge (TKC) is an obstacle course event and fundraiser for the Appleton Area School District’s physical education department featuring kid-friendly yet challenging obstacles.
Cost: $15 per participant
After September 30th, the cost will increase to $20 per participant.
LUNCH AND BREAKFAST MENUS
BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS AT RICHMOND
This is a reminder that all students get free lunch and breakfast at Richmond. Breakfast will be served in the classroom. Students are not required to take it. If a student wants only a milk for lunch, your student would need money on their account. The cost is $0.40 per milk.
