From the Principal’s Office:
Hello Black Bear families. Summer will be here in only a couple short weeks! We hope you are all doing as well as possible during these challenging times. This certainly has been a huge change from the normal end of the school year for all of us. We miss all the students and families so much. Tualatin Elementary is a special school with a special staff and community. We have a lot to be proud of again this year. I am continually impressed with the level of professionalism, teamwork, dedication and fun that our staff puts into each day while working with our exceptional students and families. We will look forward to seeing many of you in a couple weeks during the times for student item pick-up. It will be fun to still share some smiles as families drive through our back parking lot. There will be plenty of staff to cheer you all into summer.
SUMMER READING --
Reading over the summer will be even more important this year. Please have your child READ READ READ each day over the summer months. Reading over the summer will help them be ready for their next grade level in the fall. Please contact your child’s teacher for ideas and suggestions about fun reading activities that students can do with friends and family members. Reading together is a great way to share interests and learn new things together. Also, be sure to watch for fun ideas from the Tualatin Public Library. Here is a link to the library to stay informed of their fun home activities:

APPRECIATION ---
On behalf of the entire staff here at Tualatin Elementary, thank you to all our family and community partners for the support and contributions made during this school year. We are continually impressed by the involvement of so many people to help our students experience as much success as possible each and every day. We cannot thank you all enough during this time for distance learning. We know this has been hard in a lot of ways and we are grateful for any and all of your time and support to make learning at home work as best possible.
Thank you for another great year and have a wonderful SAFE, KIND and RESPONSIBLE summer in a couple weeks.
- Mr. Jamie Kingery

iPad Screen Time Passcode
Recently, we discovered that several students intentionally triggered the Passcode lock to disable the iPads. This makes the iPad unusable until we wipe the device. We have a solution that removes the current passcode & prevents students from setting the passcode again. This will be implemented Tuesday May 26th.
How can parents manage iPad usage?
Parents are recommended to use the Screen Time setting to set App limits and other restrictions about iPad daily usage. Please go here to this PARENT HELP ARTICLE to see the short videos to enable the feature and set the restrictions.
What if parents forget the Screen Time passcode?
Parents are recommended to remember Screen Time passcode. The TTSD Helpdesk (503-431-4051) can remove the Screen Time passcode when the parents call in.
