Communication meetings are an opportunity for parents/guardians to connect with teachers to discuss classroom progress and address any questions you may have. Look for an email from your child's teacher with registration information or follow this link to the Turtle Lake website for more information. If you don't see your teacher listed, feel free to reach out to them to request their registration link.

As mentioned throughout the school year, distance learning families may request a transition to in-person learning at natural breaks in the academic calendar. The final opportunity for this transition is April 12. As always, the ability to move to in-person learning is based on certain capacity and staffing logistics. If your student would like to transition to in-person learning, please contact Turtle Lake by Thursday, March 25.

If you would like to remain in distance learning through the end of this year, no further action is needed.

Student Drop Off Policy - Please note, the loop around the small parking lot in front of the school to the west of the main entrance is not a student drop off zone. This area is reserved only for students with special needs who are meeting staff at the door. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Photos From Home - For families that have chosen distance learning this year, we invite you to submit photos for the upcoming Turtle Lake Elementary highlights newsletter, “Turtle Tales,” which will be published this spring. Previous years' issues highlight activities and learning opportunities that happen at school, but we know that looks a lot different this year. If you would like to submit a photo or quote related to distance learning this year, please email annie.saukko@moundsviewschools.org and include your student’s name and grade. Here are a few photo options to consider:

• Your student’s learning space

• An activity or school work that your student did this year (e.g. artwork, science, at-home classroom project)

• Any pets “helping” with homework

• Your student with a favorite book that you’ve read since school started

• Dress up days (e.g. Storybook Character Day)

Please note by forwarding your photos that you are giving Turtle Lake permission to publish them. Reminder: photos need to be submitted by Friday, April 16th in order to be considered. Thanks!

Student Information Form - A link to the Student Information Form for the 2021-2022 school year can be found HERE. Completion of this form is optional and the information will be shared with your child's current teacher. Teachers and administrators at Turtle Lake will consider the information you provide when they make classroom assignments for the 2021-2022 school year. Forms are due by March 26, 2021.

Time is Running Out for Yearbook Photos! - If your student was not photographed for this year's Turtle Lake yearbook, it is not too late to have them included. For information on how to submit a photo to the yearbook committee, please click here. The deadline is March 31st!
