PTO Happenings.....
Please mark your calendars to join us for our next meeting on Thursday, February 2nd at 4:30pm. We have several end of the year events coming up that we will need help coordinating. We will again be having a silent auction of crafts made by our students during Parent Teacher Conferences in the spring! Make sure you stop by and check out the fun artwork and place your bid! We will also be scheduling a McTeacher's night fundraiser in the coming months so watch for more information to come home with your student!
Hope to see you on February 2nd!

Counselor's Corner
Cold weather has arrived which means some days you may be stuck indoors. Through games and activities your child can learn some important social skills such as turn taking and cooperation. Board games such as Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders are great games that require turn taking . Hide and seek is also a great game you can play to help teach your child the concept of turn taking. Activities such as puzzles, blocks, and pretend play can help teach the concept of cooperation when played with others. When playing the games or activities, you can talk to your child about the particular skill and praise them for a job well done!
Valentine's Info
- There are no classroom Valentine's parties. The family fun night on April 8th is replacing this activity.
- Please do not send in any valentine's with your child.
Early Out Wednesday for February
The ONLY early release day this month is February 8th. Bus rider leave at 11 and car riders at 12. No PM Session.
Snow make up day is February 20th so we WILL have school.
Snow Day Information
Please know that it is always YOUR decision whether to bring your child to school. We understand that you will make the best judgement for your own situation.
School closed, early release and late start are all options that the District may use. In the event of school being closed no classes will be held that day. If early release is used then bus riders will leave at 11 and car riders at 12 and no afternoon session. In the event of a late start, all AM classes will be canceled and the PM class will be in session at 1pm, full day students arrive at 12pm. Lunch will be served as normal.
It is possible that ECEC will need to adjust these times due to the timing of the weather, you will be notified as soon as possible.
REMINDERS
- If your child arrives late to school, you must sign them in at the office.
- Please put your child's name on any paperwork sent to school.
- Tuition is due the 1st day of each month or a late fee will be applied.
Kindergarten Registration- March 7 & 8 8am-7pm
What do I do to get my child enrolled in Kindergarten?
You will be getting information sent home from the ECEC office sometime in the next few weeks. Read all this information carefully. It will give you step by step instructions.
Here are some important facts to remember:
-Students MUST be 5 yrs old by July 31, 2017 to attend Kindergarten.
-ALL students who attend school at ECEC MUST attend Kindergarten registration.
-Registration is NOT at ECEC, it is at the Central Office building located at 951 W College St.
READING CALENDAR
The Nightly Reading Record Sheet is an amazing way to make sure reading is a priority in your house. When your child returns any monthly reading calendar completely filled in, at any time, they will receive a fun book. If they complete 6 calendars in the school year, they will get to pick a book from our “library,” Ms. Kelly will read it to them, and then they get to take it home. The Record sheet can be found and printed here http://www.troy.k12.mo.us/domain/88
