Why? Why would they make Kenai Fjords into a national park?
They would make Kenai Fjords a national park to preserve it. It is just like any other national park, the government wants to preserve something. They want this special thing to stay on the earth for generations. At Kenai Fjords national park they want to preserve the Harding Ice Glacier. They want to preserve it because it was here since the Ice Age. The Harding Ice Glacier covered Alaska during the Ice Age. It has shrunk, but it is the pride and joy of Kenai National Park.
