BHS Fall Final Exam Update
BHS recognizes the flexibility and grit of students throughout the first semester. As such, semester final exams for all classes will be suspended. Additionally, students may be provided with an opportunity to revisit course work on December 21st and 22nd. Teachers will share participation expectations for these days between December 7th and December 14th. Students and parents will be able to access this information through Infinite Campus.
The info below describes how teachers will use these last two days for different groups of students. Students may be in several different groups depending on their performance in each course.
Optional Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
- Group 1 Students have completed all elements of the course and provided evidence at a consistent level of performance. Additional evidence would not change the grade.
- Students may choose to participate in possible enrichment activities, but there is no requirement to participate.
- Selected courses may strongly encourage participation on these days. Teachers will share specifics for their courses, but many Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses will take advantage of these days.
Optional Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
Group 2 Students have completed all elements of the course and provided evidence at an inconsistent level of performance. Additional evidence could improve a C+ to a B- or a B+ to an A-.
- Students have the opportunity, but are not required, to participate.
- Although additional evidence may result in a higher grade, the student's grade cannot be impacted negatively.
- Providing additional evidence does not guarantee a higher grade.
Mandatory Attendance on 12.21 & 12.22
- Group 3 Students are missing one or two major assessments/assignments OR have performed significantly below their typical level of achievement on a specific grading task. Additional evidence could improve their Final Grade.
- Participation in order to provide additional evidence is required of students.
- Although additional evidence may result in a higher grade, the student's grade cannot be impacted negatively.
- Providing additional evidence does not guarantee a higher grade.
Happy Thanksgiving from BHS!
