Dear Parents,
Having recently returned from maternity leave, I have been reminded of just how hard your students are working to be successful this year! I am so proud of the teachers, staff members, and students of RPIA! We completed ISTEP testing last week and are about to begin NWEA testing - this is the test your students have taken two other times this year. It measures their growth, and you will be provided a detailed score report with their Term 4 Report Cards. We have many end-of-year activities coming up that we will continue to share information about for your knowledge.
AIR CONDITIONING - The HVAC system here on the Raymond Park campus is being replaced, with the new replacement as a much better option than repair. The good news in this matter is that a new system will be both more proficient and more reliable. The replacement began this week, and the entire building will be without air conditioning for the rest of this school year. Air handlers will continue to circulate air during this time, and the district has provided fans to help further keep the air circulating. When the weather gets warm, there may be some afternoons of 80-degree temperatures ahead. However, tackling this project now will allow the new system to be fully operational when we return to school in July. This should not require a modification in standardized wear as students are already able to wear skirts/shorts of appropriate length and short-sleeved collared shirts. If students have Warren Township t-shirts, they may wear those to school any day.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - is coming up next week. Our teachers here provide so much for your students - inspiration, motivation and, ultimately, guidance on their futures. During the week of May 7, please show your thanks and gratitude by acknowledging them in some special way. Teachers all across this country change millions of lives on a daily basis, and their work and impact extend far beyond the walls of the classroom. #ThankATeacher
MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENT NIGHT - RPMS will be hosting an incoming 7th grade student Parent Night on Tuesday, May 22, in the Raymond Park Cafeteria. Attendees will be provided with an overview of the middle school schedule and will have the opportunity to meet several key personnel. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. Entrances 1 and 24 will be open beginning at 5:45pm.
Thank you for taking a moment to read about the great things happening in Warren Township and at your school - Raymond Park Intermediate Academy.
