What is Islam?

Islam is a monotheistic religious tradition that developed in the Middle East in the 7th century Common Era Islam. they have different divisions the Sunni shi’a they both claim that they both have different mean of maintaining religions. the Islamic religion started in mecca and medina. mecca is located at 70 km inland from jeddah and Medina is located at 24.4667° N 39.6000° E.

Muhammad

Muhammad was born in 570 on a mountain town in the high desert plateau of western Mecca, Arabia.At age six his mother took him 100 miles away from Mecca to live with relatives and to show him his fathers grave. The nurse of Muhammad took him back to Mecca after his mother left him and put his grandfather in possession of him. After his grandfather's death, at the age of 8 Muhammad went to live with his uncle. When Muhammad was little he worked as a shepherd to help pay his uncle. Muhammad was a prophet. In his early 20’s Muhammad entered a service of wealthy meccan merchant, and met a widow named Khadija bint Khawalayd, which she is distant cousins with him. They married in 595 and he was 25 and she was nearly 40. They had 6 kids which 2 boys died in infancy and they had 4 daughters. On June 8, 632 he died of being poisoned and was buried in Medina. Within a hundred years Muhammad's teaching and life was spread from Arabia to as far west as morocco, Italy, Spain, and as far east to Indo-China.
