2nd Grade Happenings
November 3, 2016
I have to say that this has been a pretty amazing week so far. The entire class did an amazing job with MMO. I am so proud of them! Our Halloween party was so much fun. Thank you to our room parents (Vicky Byrd and Heather Kapust) and all the other parents (too many to name) who helped with the party. On Tuesday at Mass we learned from Fr. Jim, that we are on "Team Jesus". Both the capital "S" Saints and the lower "s" saints are our fans cheering for us. Wednesday was a very successful day academically. Today, was an exciting non-uniform day for being the amazing school we are bringing in so many coats! I can't wait to see what Friday holds.
Act of Contrition
We have now started saying the prayer daily in class, so please make sure that you are practicing this prayer at home too.
Leftover Halloween Candy
If you have any leftover Halloween candy, 2nd Grade will take it. Every Christmas season the 2nd Grades do a project for St. Vincent de Paul, and we use the candy for this project. Just send it in with your child and I will store it.
November Passport
A lot of the 2nd Graders are telling me they never got a November Passport. I reminded them that I passed them out at conferences. If your child cannot find the one that I passed out at conferences, please email me and I will send another one with them.
Thanksgiving Basket Drive
Now that we had a successful Coat Drive in October, we move onto our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive. Items will be accepted until November 18th. On that day families are encouraged to pick up a basket to deliver to families in need (let the office know if you can deliver one). The baskets can be delivered anytime that weekend (18-20). The items we are collecting are...
- Fruit rolls & Granola bars
- Packets of nuts/fruit
- Peanut butter
- Cans/Pouches of tuna
- Cheese/peanut butter crackers
- Canned Fruit & Vegetables
- Gravy Mix
- Beans/Potatoes/Rice
- Soup
- Cranberry Sauce
- Stuffing Mix
- Cake Mix
12th Man Day and St. Mike's Pride Day
This Monday the Seahawks play a Monday Night Football Game. So, to support our local team, if your child wishes, they can wear a Seahawks top with their uniform bottom.
Wednesday is St. Mike's Pride Day. If your child has a St. Mike's t-shirt from this year or last they can wear it on Wednesday with their uniform bottom.
