All School Read Aloud - June 1, 2023

Each of our classrooms engaged in conversations about the books listed below. The texts consist of topics of kindness, culture, family, historical events, race, equity, and humanity.

Teachers read these stories with their students and embark in text-talk discussions. Having the opportunity to read and chat about books that involve important content, represented in our school community, provides accurate and positive representations of the many cultural groups that make up the community, society and the world in which they live. Content rich texts can help children learn to identify stereotypes and biases when they encounter them. These topics are also a part of the Massachusetts State Standards.
