ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ID BADGES
Each student has received two photo ID badges at no cost. The badges and the unique student number will be used to account for students utilizing transportation services, checking out library books, purchasing food items from the cafeteria, and providing a means for easy identification of students in common areas of the school. Students must have the ID badge in their possession each day and follow campus procedures related to wearing the ID badge. If a student loses the ID, a replacement must be promptly purchased from the school front office. This fee will be placed on the student cash online account.
- Plastic ID - $3.00
- Lanyard - $1.00
- Plastic Sleeve - $1.00
Grace period ends for free student breakfast/lunch meals
If you think that your child may qualify for meal benefits, we encourage you to fill out an application for meal benefits. This application can be filled out electronically at schoolcafe.com (users will need to sign into an existing School Cafe account or create a new one). Applications need to be filled out each school year.
If your child does not qualify for benefits, be sure to put money in their School Cafe account so they can continue to purchase school meals in the cafeteria.
PBIS Update - Commitment
Commitment is doing what we set out to do. At Hamilton, we want our Lions to live a life of commitment to others and themselves even when met with challenges. This week students discussed setting goals for their own learning and developing plans to achieve these goals. Ask your Lion about their goals for the year and check in periodically to see how they are doing.

We are excited to welcome author Steve Swinburne to Hamilton on October 13. He will be visiting with 2-4 grade students during large group time. Steve has written over 30 children’s books. During his visit he will focus on the writing process while leading the students on adventures with manatees, wolves, black bears, and sea turtles. These are some of Steve’s books we have in the Hamilton Library.
An information flyer on how to order a book to have autographed will be sent home. The form is also attached below. He will be autographing his books during his visit. Payment can be made on School Cash (preferred method of payment). If you have any questions please contact Patricia Pace at patricia.pace@cfisd.net

Screenings
K – 5th grade: Vision and Hearing screens will be on 09/22 & 09/27 during large group
Please send glasses with students on these two dates.
1st, 3rd, 5th Grades only: Acanthosis nigricans screening for Diabetes Type 2 will also be performed on screening day. The procedure for screening is simple. Screeners who have been trained will look at your child's neck during this school year. This screening is usually a visual exam that only requires seconds to complete. Parents will be notified if there is a need for additional screening. This screening procedure does not replace your child's need for regular health care and check-ups. Contact our Nurse at kerri.lamance@cfisd.net if you have any questions.
