9/20 & 9/23 MAP testing for third and fourth grade students

9/21 & 9/28 MAP testing for first, second and fifth grade students

9/25 PTO Dash and Bash

Hot Lunch

Our first hot lunch of the year was an exciting day for students. Thank you to the PTO for organizing this lunch for students.

MAP Testing

MAP testing will begin this week for all first through fifth grade students. Please help your child get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. MAP is one measure that we use to help guide instruction. We know that students may experience anxiety around testing. Please remind them that it is an opportunity to show off all that they know and help the teachers know what to teach next.

Cardio Club

Cardio Club started this week. It was nice to see so many of our Madison friends out walking, running and earning toe tokens.

Dash and Bash

Don't forget that the PTO Dash and Bash is next Sunday, September 25. We hope you will be able to join us for a 3K run that starts at 9:30 am at Robbins Park followed by food trucks, inflatables, a DJ, face painting and balloon art!

Picture Day

If your child was absent on picture day, our make up day is October 21.

Bike Safety

if your child is riding their bike to school, please remind them to be safe. It was reported that some students were riding in the middle of Sixth Street on their way home. Please remind your child to use the sidewalk when riding to and from school.

Community Speaker Series

The Community Speaker Series, presented by D86, D181 and the D181 Foundation, is excited to announce its 2021/22 season! Please see attached flyer.

Safety Drills

The children did a wonderful job with all of our drills this week and last week. Our last drill will be bus evacuation in October.

Dismissal

Thank you for helping your child know which doors to exit at dismissal. I know this is a change for some families and we appreciate your support as we shift all walkers to the front of the school and all car riders out the back of the school. This change has help alleviate crowded sidewalks as children wait to be picked up in the car rider line. It also helps the car rider line to move a little quicker as staff know which students are car riders and can help load them in cars quicker. We will continue to review this procedure and monitor the current end of the day dismissal to ensure student safety.

Dropping Off Supplies

If you need to drop something off for your child during the school day (lunch, water bottle, supplies), please label it with your child's name and teacher and leave it on the cart in the foyer. If you are dropping off an ipad, please use the buzzer near the office door to let them know.
