DON PEDRO
Prince of Aragon
Analysis
This play emphasizes Don Pedro's loneliness. He shows his need for recognition by volunteering to help Claudio with Hero. Some might say it shows his compassion however, it is evident that there are deeper conflicts within that cause him to act the way he does. Throughout the play he seems to have a false bravado until the end. He seems sad that he is the only nobleman without a wife. Don Pedro comes off as outgoing and arrogant, at times, but in reality, he's hiding his true feelings about not having a companion.
His relationship with Claudio
Don Pedro takes Claudio under his wing and feels and obligation to help him get his girl.
