Spring Cleaning and Spruce Up!
A story, a Story...
Dear Mt Baldy Community,
In preparing for our Centennial Celebration on April 30th, and in the spirit of honoring the past, Mt Baldy School is gathering information from community members with stories they would like to tell about our school. Although we plan to have a “Baldy Chats” booth at our celebration, where alumni and others can share (and record) their stories to archive for future generations, we recognize not everyone will be able to make it to the party. With that in mind, we want to give you a chance to tell your story and send it to us for the creation of a “Baldy Chats” archive that can be shared with our community after the festivities are over – in the summer or fall.
So, if you are hankering to send us a story, please do. We have a few questions that you can choose from if a story doesn’t spring to mind immediately. The only catch is - there’s a three-minute limit. If you think you’re up to the challenge, please, please, send away. Using a smartphone’s audio taping function, (or some other device that can digitally save the information) simply tell your story, and send to us at: 100years@mtbaldy.k12.ca.us
If you are more comfortable with pen and paper, feel free to do that. In fact, paper versions may just be on display at the Centennial Celebration on April 30th, along with other artifacts. Just drop off your stories at the school office - we’ll have a box to drop them in. Include your name, contact info, and any other information you would like us to know along with the story.
Questions to get you started:
- What is your most vivid memory from Mt Baldy School?
- I’m grateful that Mt Baldy School…
- What was Mt Baldy School like when you went/worked here?
- What makes Mt Baldy School unique?
- What did you like best about Mt Baldy School?
- What do you hope to see in the future for Mt Baldy School?
If you have any questions, email us at 100years@mtbaldy.k12.ca.us - we will be checking it frequently.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this celebration :)!

Ukrainian Relief Fund
I learned Samantha Moseanko (grade 3) had Ukrainian roots when her she and her dad Todd brought in yummy perogis as a family food tradition in Ms. Camacho's class two years ago.
With the eruption of the war, I reached out to Todd and learned that his father is still there. Samantha's grandfather is directly assisting families that have been displaced by wartime activities. He is providing food and refuge on his farm.
Todd, Samantha's dad, shared that funds donated to this fund are going directly to his father to assist families in need. If you feel like you would like to support the Moseanko family in this important effort, here is the link:

Suicide Prevention Parent Information
An analogy that comes to mind is CPR training--we hope we never have to use it, but feel better in knowing that we have some basic skills should we ever need them -- and the more people who are trained, the better chances that there will be someone who can help if an event occurs.
Please click on the document below to learn about a free training for parent/guardians. We encourage you to attend this free online training.
