Trimester 3 Learning Model Selection
- Trimester 3 begins March 1. Families will have an opportunity to indicate a preference for a change in their child’s learning model for the third and final trimester of the 2021-22 school year. If you do not wish to make a change, you do not need to take any action. If you do wish to make a change, you will need to to log into ParentVue to do so. See below for key things to note:
- The learning model preference survey will be open starting at 8am on Thursday, February 4 and will close at 5pm on Friday, February 5.
- Please note that indicating your preference for a change does not guarantee placement.
- If we are able to accommodate your request for a change, please expect that your child will be assigned a new teacher.
Valentine's Day
EXCHANGING VALENTINE'S - VIRTUAL STYLE!
No paper Valentine's of any kind, candy, chocolates, or any types of treats are to be brought to or exchanged at school. Teachers will not be passing out paper Valentine's or handing out candy, chocolates or any types of treats either. This is so that our Husmann Community can be consistent for all of our students, regardless if they are in-person or remote. With that being said...
If you are interested in doing virtual Valentine's Day cards, below is a template that will force copy and a video on how to use this resource. It allows students to make cards and at the end of the video, the teacher shares how each student will share their cards with each other virtually.

*OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER*
As we settle into these winter months, cold and flu symptoms are likely to become more prevalent. Please understand that COVID protocol must be adhered to regardless of how "mild" a symptom may seem. These directives come from our Illinois Department Of Public Health, as well as our County Health Department.
Please have back up plans/arrangements in the event that your child(ren) need to be isolated or quarantined, as there is a chance it could occur more than once. In the interest of keeping our students, families, and staff safe and healthy, I thank you for your cooperation.
***IN PERSON LEARNERS - PLEASE FILL OUT THE SELF CERTIFICATION IN PARENTVUE BEFORE YOUR STUDENT(S) ARRIVES IN THE BUILDING*** This prevents your student from having to be pulled from class after the start of the day. Thank you for your cooperation.
If your child has ANY one or more of the below listed symptoms, they will have to abide by the criteria listed under the box of symptoms in order to return to school. IT IS NO LONGER ONLY HAVING TO GO HOME/STAY HOME DUE TO FEVER AND/OR VOMITING. Please familiarize yourself with the criteria listed below for planning purposes. Your student also must be picked up from school no later than 30-45 minutes after you are called if they need to be sent home with any ONE or more of the symptoms listed below. Please be sure to have emergency contacts who can be reached and available to pick up your child within this time-frame. Thank you for helping us reopen as SAFELY as possible!
*Please note that these strict guidelines are IDPH mandated, and must be followed with no exceptions. Thank you for your cooperation.*
Symptoms of Covid 19:
Fever - Cough - Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing - Chills - Headache
Nausea/vomiting - Congestion/runny nose - Sore throat - Diarrhea - Muscle/body aches -
New loss of taste or smell - Fatigue - Abdominal pain
If your child were to develop any COVID-like illness symptoms at school, you will be notified to pick up your child as quickly as possible. Your child will need to follow one of the following procedures in order to be allowed back in attendance at school:
10 day stay at home/remote learning **OR**
A medical doctor’s note (written documentation) stating the diagnosis to explain the symptoms. It MUST read that the symptoms are "not believed to be COVID related" May NOT simply state "Viral illness, student may return to school" **OR**
Proof (written documentation) of a negative COVID-19 test. A "rapid" negative result WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. A negative result MUST be a PCR test.
If your child is sent home from school with symptoms of COVID-19, the rest of the household must be quarantined until an alternative diagnosis is made or a negative COVID-19 test result received. Siblings in your child’s school, or other D47/D155 schools, will need to be picked up as well and as quickly as possible.
Our safe return/hybrid will only work if we all do our part. Please refresh your mind with the above reminders for the safety of our students and staff.
Thank you, and WELCOME BACK!!
I would also like to thank our families for being understanding about the isolation/quarantine criteria we have in place to keep everyone healthy!

STUDENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Winter After School Virtual Club
Roblox Club. Many have already registered for this exciting club and many more are invited to sign up! Join our student club captains to enter on their safe servers (in which no strangers can enter) to play games. Students will need their own personal device, not their D47 device, and have played Roblox already. The plan is for students to “friend” each other during the club time on a Husmann Club Captain’s server, and remove them at the end of club time. If any student wants to remain “friends” with another Husmann student on Roblox, they are required to talk to their parents to do so. Students will need to agree to these terms in order to play. D47 or Ms. Kuhns is in no way endorsing the use of the game, only offering a safe club where those who use it may enjoy playing with other Husmann students. Ms. Kuhns will be supervising this club on Thursdays, January 28 - February 25, from 3:00-4:00. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1oiH9WsnLjG9hT2HB_yDQ8VW5RgHhVypI-Ahs8n7zDQI/edit
