Moving in Math and Science
Our classes have moved onto fractions this week! Students used whiteboards to understand how to draw fraction bars and fractions on a number line!
Next week in science, we will wrap up our fossil unit by creating a dig site and taking our assessment over fossils.
Reading for the Stars
During our reading block, ACTIVE QUESTIONING and non fiction text features has been our focus!! Students worked in culture groups to first,reflect on the most important information learned. Then, they took this information and created deep questions to extend their thinking/learning.
Writing as Experts
Our persuasive unit is under way! Students have been learning to use strategies to develop ideas for persuasive speeches! Ask your child what thesis they are working to develop!

- Half day conferences on Thursday; All day conferences Friday

- Battle of the Books competition is Wednesday afternoon!

- Keep working on Young Author's piece, if you have chosen to participate!
- Six Flags reading logs will be due soon! Keep recording reading minutes on those sheets!!
- Lip sales during lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday!! Cost is $1 per lip pop!
- Dress up as your favorite person, character, hero on Thursday!
