About this Round Table Workshop:
"Mathematics learning disabilities do not often occur with clarity and simplicity. Rather they can be combinations of difficulties which may include language processing problems, visual spatial confusion, memory and sequence difficulties, and or unusually high anxiety" (Bliss, 2000).
In order to effectively teach children with learning disabilities, teachers need to accurately identify disabilities and develop individualized instruction for students in math. Being knowledgeable AND comfortable in utilizing diverse approaches and strategies that emphasize on students' strengths and minimize their weaknesses will help them to compete successfully in the classroom and in life.
