RGHS Ram-ily Connection
Partnering With Parents For Student Achievement
A "Message" from the Principal
May is here and the countdown is on! Seniors are preparing for prom and graduation, scholars are completing the End of Course exams and summer school sign ups are happening now with counselors. We have officially entered the final month of our teaching and learning. Progress report grades should have been received with your child’s 4th quarter progress which should help you to be fully aware of the current academic standing of your child. We are committed to continuing our work with each of you as we encourage our scholars to finish the year strong. It is May, but we aren't done yet! As we complete this last month of school, please be aware of the number of credits that your child should have earned at this point, so that you can ask about summer school for your scholar.
- A freshman should have earned at least 3 credits, needing 6 credits total by the end of the year
- A sophomore should have earned at least 9 credits, needing 12 credits total by the end of the year
- A junior should have earned at least 15 credits, needing 18 credits total by the end of the year
- A senior should have earned at least 21 credits, needing 24 credits total by the end of the year. (credits earned must be in the appropriate areas in order to be eligible for graduation)
If you are unsure of where your child stands at this point, please visit our SIS parent portal to determine the academic needs of your child. The counselors will have information regarding summer school for all scholars in need of additional support in the area of credit recovery.
Final Exams will take place the week of May 23-27, please speak with your scholar about the importance of preparing themselves for the exams. A scholar's performance on the exam could be just what is needed to get them over the hump.
This year has been a true test of our strength and each of you have proven that we are indeed stronger together! Schools across the county have experienced challenges with the transition back to in-person learning. We are thankful for your support in helping us to create a culture of learning and personal growth. As we work towards the completion of the school year, please encourage your scholars to be mindful of their behaviors and what is placed on social media. Often community and social media issues find themselves on our campus. Doing so may be detrimental to your child's academic performance. We remain committed to each scholar’s success and are here to support you as we work to finish the 2021-2022 school year strong. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call. Our team can be reached at: 314-869-4700. Thank you in advance for your support in making this school year one of academic and personal success.
As you all know, summer is just around the corner and we want to keep our children active and productive. Applying for a summer job just may be the activity to keep your child engaged (and out of your wallet lol).
If you have a child or relative who is interested in summer employment, please check out the information below. There are a number of employment opportunities for our youth and they offer great learning experiences as well.
*Note: Some opportunities only apply to graduating seniors or those who are 18 or older.

In the event that scholars and/or teachers are sent home for 10 days of quarantine, the affected group of students will participate in virtual learning with their classroom teacher. Students and teachers must log into Google Classroom for virtual learning during the quarantine period. Therefore, teachers will implement the concurrent teaching model that was implemented in Spring 2021, using the Google Classroom platform.
