Supply Day is Coming!!! The West Hills PTSA has been busy collecting supply requests from teachers and staff.

How can you help?

1) Check out the Amazon and Target wish lists links and purchase an item to donate.
2) Purchase items and drop them off in the red bin located inside the front office.
3) Donate cash and we will do the shopping (email supplyday@whhsptsa.com).
4) Collect extra supplies you may already have and drop them off in the front office.
*We will have a curbside drop off days in February (dates TBD) where you can drop off supplies and monetary donations directly to the PTSA
*additional supplies that are in high demand: paper towels, kleenex, hand sanitizers, and disinfectant wipes

Freshmen! Freshmen! Freshmen! Stop by Mr. Kitten's room M7 before school, at break, or lunch, or even after school! If you are unsure if you ordered one feel free to stop by and Mr. Kitten will check for you!

For just a dollar or two, tell someone how much they mean to you. The Class of 2024 will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Candy Gram Fundraiser this Wednesday, Feb. 9th and this Thursday, Feb. 10th during lunch. Candy grams are $1.00 each or $2.00 for three. Please come by and help support The Class of 2024.

All Students: If you are interested in learning more about a career in the trades or apprenticeship programs after graduation, sign up in the Counseling office for the Trade and Apprenticeship Workshop. The workshop will be held on February 17th from 3pm-4pm in College/Career Center (L-1).

Any current or future student driver wanting to park on campus this year or next needs to show proof of attending one "Start Smart" class with a parent. This course needs to be completed ONCE in high school.This course is open to current or future Wolf Pack student drivers. You do not need a valid learners permit or drivers license to attend the course. We have added 2 sessions for Semester 2!

Seniors - Counseling is hosting college application tutorials again on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all of January. We are there from 2 - 3 in the Career Center/L-1. Show up to receive application support on any applications you are working on!

From beginners to advanced, we have players from all levels! Please come by and check it out! A fun way to spend your Thursday’s lunch and a great way to make new friends!

Students! After graduation, will you be attending a trade school, community college, or 4-year University? If your answer is yes, do you need money to help pay for it? If so, we would like to invite you to attend the Scholarship Club that is hosted by the Counseling Department. At the scholarship club, we will introduce you to scholarship opportunities and provide time to work on scholarship applications under the guidance of a counseling staff member. For additional information, please contact Ms. Womack in the Counseling Office. The club meets Mondays during lunch and period 7 in the College/Career Center (L-1) located across from the library.

Loss of Privilege (LOP) List: This exists to support the idea that our primary function is “Academics First” and that student behaviors and choices need to prioritize attendance and following school rules. Students may earn their way off of the LOP list through attendance at detention and / or Saturday school after talking with their Assistant Principal. They can also lose a privilege that was granted (i.e. serving Saturday School to be eligible to purchase a Dance Ticket, but then repeat actions (or new actions) that put them back on LOP so that attending Dance is no longer available to them and a dance ticket refund is issued). All students begin Semester 2 off the list. Totals from Semester 1 do not count for Semester 2.

Hello Wolf Pack Students and Families:

Recently our school board approved a three year calendar. For ease of reading and planning for students and families, we brought them together in one document for you. If you could please plan your family time around our announced Summer, Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring breaks, this would help your student stay on top of classroom instruction and learning. We know this is not always possible, but we just wanted to share this for possible advance planning.

February 2, 2022 was the National Letter of Intent Signing Day. Athletes who have verbal offers from college coaches make their athletic scholarships official by signing their National Letter of Intent.

We are proud to announce that two of our student-athletes, Madalyn Morris (Vanguard University) and Isabella Shubert (Knox College), signed their official letters of intent in the gym foyer. Their parents and families really apprecated the event and we thank Athletic Director Lucas Hondros, ASB Director Ardy Riego, and AP of Athletics John Hoadley for making this event happen.

Please feel free to congratulate Madalyn and Isabella on their fine accomplishments!

Last week in English, the sophomore honors students exercised their persuasion powers by playing a game called "Snake Oil." In the game, students were given a customer (aka "audience") to whom they had to sell a product of their choosing combining cards in their hand. They had 2 minutes to write down their sales pitch using rhetorical strategies, appeals, and evidence. Then, they presented it to the customer. The customer chose the winning pitch based on how well they were convinced. A class favorite involved the customer/audience being a Ninja. The student pitched "Sleep Glue" to the Ninja.
