First Edition of the SPS Weekly Newsletter
We are excited to share the first edition of the SPS Weekly Newsletter with our families, students, staff, and community members! A new edition will be sent each Friday when school is in session, sharing updates, previewing upcoming events, and showcasing the amazing work being done in our schools.
From the Desk of the Superintendent
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
The first three days have been very positive and students returned full of energy. This week I was at all of our schools during drop off, during the school day, or at pick up. It was great to start to get to know faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and students.
I look forward to providing you with further updates in the coming days and weeks ahead.

First Day of School Photos
It was great to be able to visit all of our schools this week and capture the smiles as students arrived for the start of the school year! Students in grades 1-12 reported on Wednesday, September 6 and students in preschool and kindergarten started on Thursday, September 7. Links to photo galleries can be found below:

Staff Honored for Years of Service
During the opening day staff convocation on Tuesday we recognized staff for reaching their 10th, 20th, and 30th year working for the Stoughton Public Schools! Congratulations!
Marching Band Wows at Convocation
The Stoughton High Marching Black Knights gave SPS teachers, staff, and administration a preview of their fall show, titled "Dawn to Dusk", at the start of the staff convocation Tuesday morning. The video below shows the final 2+ minutes of their performance featuring the songs Moondance and Moon River. The students received a well-deserved standing ovation when they finished!
